FAN, Hengshan

  Prof. of Regional Economics, Supervisor of Ph.D Candidates, Senior Economic Administrator, Vice-Secretary-General of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission, Honored Director of the Institutes

  Prof. Fan has researched on the economic reform theories and policies for a long period of time. He has taken part in the official Documents’ composition for the CPC and the State Council’s Government Work Report. He has played an active role in the research and composition for the documents, plans and programs on the Chinese development and the economic reforms. He is the top brain for the Chinese national government. Prof. Fan is the top specialist of the important key project supported by the National Social Science Fund, entitled “the Study on the Benefit Compensation Mechanism for the Regional Coordinated Development of the New Era”. Prof. Fan is an active Prof. for Wuhan University, Peking University and Renmin University of China, with over 100 academic papers and over 30 monographs, many of which have obtained the National Book Prize and so on. He is the economic adviser for the governments of many provinces and cities. He is the honored director of the Chinese Regional Science Association and the senior adviser of the Chinese Regional Economics Academy.

CHEN, Zhigang

  Prof. of Finance, Supervisor of Ph.D Candidates, Post-doctoral Researcher of Economics

  Prof. Chen’s research is focused on the financial development and economic development theories and policies. He has presided over many research projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation, National Soft Science Foundation and the Chinese Ministry of Education. He has published four monographs, 2 textbooks and over fifty articles in some famous academic journals many indexed by CSSCI. He is the member of the Chinese Foreign Economic Thoughts Council and the Chinese Soft Science Research Federation.

HUANG Yongming

  Prof. of Economic Development, Supervisor of Ph.D Candidates, Post-doctoral Researcher of Economics,Director of the Industrial Development and Regional Competitiveness Research Center

  Prof. Huang’s professional research focuses on the industrial and regional development theories and policies on the background of the globalization, especially in the following fields: the regional industrial development (including service industry) and the regional economic development strategy. He was a visiting scholar in Columbia Business School, Columbia University of the US and a visiting professor of Seoul University of Korea. He is an active specialist of the Chinese Ministry of Education and China Scholarship Council. His consultative report have been honorably accepted by the top leaders of Hubei Province in Central China Area. Prof. Huang has published over 60 academic papers in some important academic journals, including SSCI journals. He has presided over 40 research projects, including the projects from the National Social Science Foundation and the Chinese Ministry of Education. Ha has obtained 2 Second Prizes of the Excellent Research Achievements of Hubei Province and Wuhan City respectively.

WANG, Lei

  Prof. of Urban Economics and Urban Planning, Supervisor of Ph.D Candidates, Ph.D of Urban Planning from Columbia University of the US, General Director of the Institutes

  Prof. Wang’s research is focused on the urban space structure’s evolvement, the economic influence of the Metropolitan Area, the regional governance transformation, especially the relevant research related to the Yangzte River Economic Zone and the Metropolitan Area of the Middle-Reaches of the Yangtze River. He is the vice-general-secretary of The Chinese Regional Economics Academy, the council of the Chinese Regional Science Federation, an active researcher for the Center of Human and Economic Development Studies of Peking University. He has published over 50 academic papers in some important academic journals and many monographs both in Chinese and in English. He is the academic consultant for many important journals and publishing houses. He has received various awards and grants, including Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders’ Fellowship Fund and the Luojia Mountain Young Scholars’ Program of Wuhan University. He has also held visiting appointment at Korea University under the sponsorship of Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies. He has supervised over 10 Ph.D and Master Degree candidates,

YANG, Gangqiang

  Associate Prof. of Economic Development, Supervisor for Master Degree Candidates, Post-doctoral Researcher of Economics, Vice Director of the Institutes

  Prof. Yang is the visiting scholar of Duke University of the US. His research focuses on the regional coordinated development of China, the urbanization and the public goods and services’ equal provision. He has published over 10 academic papers in some important academic journals and newspapers. He has also presided over 10 research programs from the Chinese Social Science Foundation, the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Chinese Post-doctoral Science Foundation, the National Development and Reform Commission of China and Wuhan University.

ZHANG, Sifei

  Associate Research Fellow of Economic Management, Supervisor for Master Degree Candidates, Ph.D of Economics. Post-doctoral Researcher of Management

  Prof. Zhang was the co-researcher of City University of Hong Kong for 1 year. His research is focused on innovation, enterprises and regional economic development. He has published some academic papers in SSCI, CSSCI journals and important newspapers. He has completed some consultant reports and some research programs.

LI, Ming

  Associate Professor of Economics, Supervisor for Master Degree Candidates, Ph.D of Regional Economics from Renmin University of China, Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Institutes

  Prof. Li’s teaching and research are focused on the comparison of the Chinese and foreign regional policy and the Chinese regional economic sustainable and coordinated development. She was the visiting scholar of Belgium and the UK for the academic research and study. She has published over 20 academic papers in some important academic journals, most of them indexed by CSSCI, EI and ISTP. She has published 2 monographs in the Chinese important academic publishing houses. She has also presided over or taken part in some important research projects from the Chinese Social Science Foundation and the National Development and Reform Commission of China. In 2012, she has honored by the Chinese Regional Science Academy the Third Prize of the Excellent Paper for Young Scholars.

SUN, Yuanyuan

  Associate Prof. of Regional Economics, Supervisor for Master Degree Candidates, Post-doctoral Researcher of Economics

  His research focuses on regional economics and international trade. He has published some academic papers in the top Chinese academic journals. He has presided over some research projects from the Chinese Nature Science Foundation and the Commercial Bureau of Hubei Province in Central China Area.

  Prof. Fan’s research focuses on the science and technology globalization, the industrial location, the urban and regional innovation. He has presided over 9 research programs from the Chinese Nature Science Foundation, the Chinese Post-doctoral Science Foundation, the Soft-science Research Project of Hubei Province. He has published over 30 academic papers in some important academic journals, including some top academic journals. He is the visiting scholar of University of Queensland, Australia. He is an active researcher of the Global Innovation and Development Institute of East China Normal University. He is also very active in the Chinese Regional Science Association and the Chinese Regional Economics Academy.

ZHANG, Biao

  Associate Prof. of Laws, Supervisor for Master Degree Candidates, Ph.D of Laws, Post-doctoral Researcher of Public Economics

  He is an active research fellow in the Laws Institute of Wuhan University. His research focuses on regional legal system, regional coordination and local authority, especially in the Free Trade Zone. He has presided over 10 research programs from the Chinese Social Science Foundation, the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Chinese Ministry of Justice, the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Hubei Province. He has openly published over 10 academic papers, some reprinted by the Chinese important academic organization. He has given over 50 lectures of laws for governments and enterprises.
