ZHANG, Jianqing, born in March 1963, is deputy dean of the Institute for the Development of Central China at Wuhan University. With extensive publications on international trade and global economy, he is the recipient of Dong Furen Award of Economics in 2000 and a visiting scholar to Chicago University, New York State University in the U.S.A., Université de la Rochelle in France as well as Warsaw University in Poland. Prof. Zhang is also a standing committee member of China Association of World Economy and general secretary of Hubei Association of World Economy.
 
CHEN, Zhigang, born in September 1971, received his Ph.D. in economics from Wuhan University in 2000 and completed postdoctoral training at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2009. Prof. Chen’s reseach focuses on financial development & economic development theories and policies. He is the PI of many research projects funded by National Social Science Foundation, National Soft Science Foundation and Ministry of Education, and published four books and over fifty articles. He is a member of China Council of Foreign Economic Thoughts and China Soft Science Research Council.
 
HUANG Yongming, professor of economic development and director of Center for Industrial Development and Regional Competitiveness. Prof. Huang obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in Wuhan University and was a visiting scholar in Columbia Business School, Columbia University (US) between Sept.2011 and Sept. 2012. His professional interests lie in the following fields: industrial development, innovation, entrepreneurship, globalization, economic policy, sophistication of China’s export.
 
Lei WangisanAssociate Professor of Regional Economic Development at the Institute for the Development of Central China (IDCC) of Wuhan University. He haspublished extensively on prestigious international journals including Urban Studies, Cities, and Habitat International as well as leading Chinese periodicals such as Economic Geography, Human Geography, Urban Development Studies, Urban Planning International, and Regional Economic Review. He is the author of“Foreign Direct Investment and Urban Growth in China” that was published in 2011 by Ashgate in the U.K. His translation also introduced Nobel laureateAmartya Sen’s work of “The Idea of Justice” into China through Renmin University Press with society-wide recognition.
       Dr. Wang has broad interest in the junction of development studies and location analysis, with particular strength in the political economy of urban growth and sustainable development. He is a council member of The Regional Science Association of China, a researcher of the Center for Human and Economic Development Studies at Peking University, and served as a planning consultant to CAMCE WHU Design and Research Corporation. He has receivedvarious awards and grants including Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund, Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy Research Grant, PRC National Development and Reform Commission Research Grant, PRC Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Research Fund. He has held visiting appointment at Korea University under the sponsorship of Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies.
        Hereceived his bachelor and master degrees from Wuhan University in urban planning and regional economics respectively, and his Ph.D. in urban planning from Columbia University.He also worked at Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and New York CityDepartment of City Planning. Li, Ming, Associate Professor, received the Ph.D. of regional economics from Renmin University of China. In 2007 and 2013, she went to Belgium and the UK for the academic research of nearly 1 year respectively. Her research is focused on the regional economic comparison and the regional sustainable development. She has published 3 monographs on the regional policy comparison, the Chinese regional coordinated development and carbon strategy in the top press of China. Over 20 academic papers have been published or indexed by CSSCI, EI, ISTP and ISSHP.
 
ZHANG, Sifei, associate professor, PhD, his research focuses on innovation, firm developing and regional science. Email: sfzhang@whu.edu.cn.
 
YANG, Gangqiang, lecturer, received his Ph.D. in political economy and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for the Development of Central China. His research focuses on regional development in China, especially rural reform issues.
 
ZHANG, Biao, lecturer, received his Ph.D. in constitution and administrative law and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for the Development of Central China. His research focuses on regional legal system, regional coordination and local authority.
 
SUN, Yuanyuan, lecturer, received his Ph.D. in international economics and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for the Development of Central China. His research focuses on regional economics and international trade.
 
FAN, Fei, lecturer, received his Ph.D. in economic geography and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for the Development of Central China. His research focuses on regional economics and innovation strategy.
